What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and what your rights are. It applies to everyone who uses feelbetta.co.uk.

The data we collect and why

1. Quiz results email

If you choose to receive your quiz results by email, we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your quiz answers, which may include health information such as physical conditions, pregnancy status, or mental wellbeing

Why: To send you your results and, with your agreement, personalised wellness recommendations.

Lawful basis: Your explicit consent, given via the tick box on the quiz results screen. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing hello@feelbetta.co.uk.

Retention: We keep this data for 24 months from the date you submitted it, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Note on health data: Your quiz answers may include special category data as defined under UK GDPR. We treat this data with the highest level of care. We do not share it with any third party except as described in the section below on data processors.

2. Newsletter signup

If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect:

  • Your first name
  • Your email address

Why: To send you wellness content, platform updates, and recommendations we think are relevant to you.

Lawful basis: Your consent, given at the point of signup. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing hello@feelbetta.co.uk.

Retention: We keep your data for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we move your record to an inactive list and delete it within 12 months.

3. Partner application form

If you apply to be listed as a provider on FeelBetta, we collect:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address and phone number
  • Your business name, specialty, location, budget range, and whether you work online or in person

Why: To assess your application, contact you about listing options, and manage our provider relationships.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests. We have a legitimate interest in evaluating and managing provider partnerships, and this interest is not overridden by your rights as a business contact making a professional enquiry.

Retention: If your application does not proceed, we keep your data for 24 months from submission. If you become an active partner, we keep your data for the duration of the relationship plus 6 years to meet our legal and contractual obligations.

4. Provider contact form

If you use the "Get in touch" form on a provider card in your quiz results, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number

Why: To pass your enquiry directly to the provider you have chosen to contact. This data is transmitted to the provider by email and is not retained by FeelBetta after transmission.

Lawful basis: Your consent, given at the point of submitting the form. By submitting the form you agree to your contact details being shared with that provider.

Retention: FeelBetta does not retain this data. Once your enquiry has been transmitted to the provider, your contact details are subject to that provider's own privacy policy.

5. Analytics and user behaviour research

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how people use our site. This includes data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (country or city level). We do not collect your name or email address through analytics.

We also use Hotjar (now part of Contentsquare) to understand how visitors interact with the site through heatmaps and anonymised session recordings. Hotjar automatically suppresses any text you type into form fields and does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name or email address.

Why: To improve the platform and understand what content and features are most useful.

Lawful basis: Your consent, given via our cookie banner. Analytics and session recording cookies are only set if you accept non-essential cookies. If you reject them, no analytics or session data is collected.

Retention: Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Hotjar session data is retained for 365 days, after which it is automatically deleted.

6. Server logs

When you visit feelbetta.co.uk, our hosting provider Netlify automatically records standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is a standard feature of all web hosting and is not something we actively configure.

Why: For security, uptime monitoring, and abuse prevention.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests. Netlify retains this data for approximately 30 days.

Cookies

We use cookies on feelbetta.co.uk. For full details of which cookies we set and why, please read our Cookies Policy.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We use the following data processors who may handle your personal data on our behalf:

Brevo (Sendinblue SAS)

We use Brevo to manage our mailing lists and send emails. Your name and email address, and in the case of quiz result emails your quiz answers, are stored in Brevo. Brevo is based in France and processes data in accordance with EU GDPR, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. Privacy policy.

Netlify Inc.

We host feelbetta.co.uk on Netlify. Netlify processes server log data including IP addresses. Netlify is based in the United States. Data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under UK GDPR Article 46. Privacy policy.

Google LLC (Google Maps Platform)

If you enter a location in the quiz, your postcode is sent to the Google Maps API to return nearby provider results. This only happens when you actively type in the location field. Google is based in the United States. Data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under UK GDPR Article 46. Privacy policy.

Google LLC (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager)

If you accept analytics cookies, your browsing behaviour on feelbetta.co.uk is tracked by Google Analytics. Google is based in the United States. Data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under UK GDPR Article 46. Privacy policy.

Contentsquare SAS (Hotjar)

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Hotjar (operated by Contentsquare SAS) to collect heatmap and anonymised session recording data. Hotjar suppresses all form field content automatically and does not receive your name, email address, or any special category health data. Contentsquare is based in France and processes data within the EU, which the UK has recognised as providing adequate protection. Privacy policy.

Anthropic PBC

When your quiz results include organic provider listings, FeelBetta uses Anthropic's Claude API to search for relevant local providers. The only data sent to the API is your selected wellness category (for example "yoga"), your location if you have provided one (for example "SW10"), and your budget range. No health information, no special category data, no name, and no email address is sent to Anthropic. Anthropic is based in the United States. Data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under UK GDPR Article 46. Privacy policy.

International data transfers

Some of our data processors are based outside the United Kingdom, specifically in the United States. Where this is the case, we ensure that transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved for use under UK GDPR, or by an adequacy decision. Brevo processes data within the EU, which the UK has recognised as adequate.
